McKinzie Gales, is a Global Health Specialist and Public Health Consultant with over six years of experience in public health, research, evaluation, and social science. With a Master’s in Public Health, specializing in global health and maternal and child health, and an undergraduate background in Sociology and Psychology, she has led and supported projects with organizations like UNICEF, CDC, and IFRC. Her work focuses on complex project management, capacity building, and data-driven decision-making to strengthen emergency responses and improve health outcomes. Skilled in building cross-sector partnerships, McKinzie has developed training materials, evaluated health programs, and implemented evidence-based practices in Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, and the United States, addressing crises such as cholera, COVID-19, the opioid epidemic, and mpox. Recently, she led the development of the IOA Toolkit to improve collaboration and understanding of public health emergencies. Committed to advancing gender-sensitive approaches, she contributed to the SAGER for IOA project, enhancing sex- and gender-disaggregated data collection, analysis and use in outbreak analytics. McKinzie is committed to continuous learning and advancing community-centered health, emphasizing the importance of strategic, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based approaches tailored to local public health needs during crises.
