Rachel Goodermote is a senior officer working in public health emergencies and surveillance at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) based in Geneva where she supports translating epidemiological and clinical evidence for public health interventions. She provides technical support to regional IFRC and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Society teams related to epidemic preparedness and response activities, surveillance, and anticipatory action for health. Rachel leads IFRC’s community-based surveillance (CBS) strategy to improve early detection and early action to potential outbreaks and best-practices for linking CBS to national surveillance systems. Rachel received her Master of Science in Public Health Degree in International Health from Johns Hopkins University and has an undergraduate background in anthropology.
