Part I of II for the IOA Working Group (GOARN): Using community sourced data** for outbreak response: What works, what doesn’t and how to make it better?
We’re excited to welcome
from LSHTM:Sophie Meakin and John Edmunds
from MSF: John Johnson
from CDC: Henriette Bulambo
today’s call is Part I of a two part series (18.02 & 04.03) on
Call I: On the 18.02, we welcome modelers, epidemiologists, response leadership and social scientists to share on what has worked and not worked in integrating community sourced data** into outbreak decision-making and why. Social scientists will also speak to how they have been able to navigate some of these barriers for improved use of community sourced data. We’re glad to welcome panelists from LSHTM, MSF and CDC.
Call II: On the 04.03, we will continue the debate and discussion and work collaboratively on a “what to do (or not to do)”. Aim to develop/agree on output support (videos, Field Exchange, publication) for outbreak response leadership (what to insist upon from data scientists) and for data scientists (how to better collect, incorporate, integrate community sourced data). The collaborative work (output) aimed to support teams working at different outbreak response levels practically, using specific case study examples.
